We are looking to hire for a Munich-based German-speaking Account Manager position, responsible for nurturing and growing our existing portfolio of Shippers through relationship building, engagement activities and great Shipper experience. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building this new function and should be highly analytical, customer obsessed, have experience in a commercial role and be ready to roll up their sleeves to grow this business.

Key job responsibilities

  • Nurture and grow an existing portfolio of small/medium sized shippers and achieve volume goals with best-in-class service.
  • Maintain a high level of engagement from our shippers through consultative account management, and proactively identify the challenges they are facing.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the portfolio as well as internally.
  • Lead new commercial initiatives to solve customer pain points and improve shipper experience.
  • Be the voice of the customer (Shipper) to guide product development and iterations.
  • Lead by example and coach other team members to ensure success as a team.

About The Team

The company is a B2B start-up within Transportation Services in Europe.

It allows both small and large external businesses (“shippers”) to use transportation technology and network to transport products in bulk across Europe. This is an innovative technology-driven solution for the logistics needs of small and large businesses and is scaling rapidly as an offering.

This role sits within the Account Management team, part of the companies  Freight Commercial team. Focusing on managing existing shippers in the EU market, the Business Development Manager is expected to grow volume share from existing shippers, foster relationship building, dive deep on shippers’ challenges and find possible solutions and achieve volume goals with best-in-class service.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent proficiency of English (other European languages are a plus)
  • Fluency in German
  • Prior work experience in a Commercial role (Sales, Account Management, Product Management, Business Development)
  • Solid knowledge in MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint…)
  • Business acumen, analytical skills, and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Prior experience working in a logistics/supply-chain role.
  • Strong people skills and ability to influence others.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial, self-sufficient and able to operate in a fluid, ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of management.
